Creating Cambridge was initially created to help cross pollination of networking groups and meetups in Cambridge. As part of our initial purpose within Creating Cambridge we always had the intention to help local charities with some of their good causes. The latest event we run last week, the BIG Summer BBQ 2013, had Romsey Mill as charity of choice and it was an absolute pleasure working with them and helping them to raise some funds for their highly demanding task, a total of £339.62, adding up the sales from the raffle, some contributions from the free massages offered on site by Salus Wellness and the 15% of tickets sold via groups. Charity Green, corporate partnership officer for Romsey Mill, commented:
Romsey Mill is so grateful to Creating Cambridge for raising such a generous sum of money at the Big Summer BBQ. It will be used to give second chances, hope and an open door to over 2,600 vulnerable and disadvantaged young people and families. We help individuals who are facing challenges to fulfil their potential, providing opportunities to succeed, develop new skills and feel a sense of belonging. Our goal is to make Cambridge a better place to live, work and learn – for everyone, regardless of their circumstances. Thank you for helping us make that happen!
